Several Cub Scouts from Holy Name's Pack 50 recently completed the necessary requirements to receive Religious Emblem awards from the Boy Scouts of America. The boys were required to study a denomination-appropriate activity book and discuss these topics with their parents, guardians or ministers. Rather than simply winning an award, the goal of earning a religious emblem is to help the Scout develop a personal relationship with Jesus. Standing from left to right are Wolf Scouts Jonas D., Ian M., Sam G., Jack M. and Cameron H.; seated is Webelos Scout Sean W. Jonas received the Presbyterian "God and Me" Emblem in a ceremony at his church attended by his minister, congregation and fellow Scouts. Sean received the "Parvuli Dei" Emblem and the Wolves each received the "Light of Christ" Emblem at a ceremony presided over by Bishop McRaith in Owensboro. Congratulations, Scouts!
